Talc and Ovarian Cancer Case: Pharmaceutical Company Found Guilty

A talc and ovarian cancer case in St. Louis, Missouri resulted in a guilty verdict for a giant pharmaceutical company. Johnson & Johnson is ordered to pay $72 million in compensatory and punitive damages to the family of Jacqueline Fox.

In October 2015, 62-year-old Jacqueline Fox of Birmingham, Ala., died of ovarian cancer. Jacqueline Fox, and close to 1,200 ovarian cancer sufferers, filed a class-action lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson claiming the company’s talc and feminine hygiene products caused her to contract ovarian cancer.
