Chemical Warfare Agent Found in Fish Oil, Cod Liver Oil and Krill Oil
A chemical warfare agent used during World War I is found in nearly every fish oil, cod liver oil and krill oil product on store shelves.
It’s called acrolein and it’s a highly toxic lipid peroxide. In fact, all lipid peroxides are toxic and cause massive cellular damage.
Malondialdehyde (MDA) and 4-Hydroxynonenal (HNE) are two other lipid peroxides that are known to play a direct role in disease and cellular damage. MDA reacts with DNA to form a known mutagen and HNE has been linked to several diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, cataracts, atherosclerosis, diabetes and cancer. (1)
