Pregnancy can cause a wide range of uncomfortable symptoms with headache being one of them. Headaches will usually be more common during the first or third trimester. At the beginning of pregnancy, hormonal changes and an increase in blood volume are the usual causes of headaches. Later, in the third trimester, headaches might be caused by changes in posture due to the extra weight. Also, women who experienced frequent migraines before pregnancy might also experience them during pregnancy, although some women report a relief from migraines once they become pregnant.
