A homeless teenager overcame overwhelming odds to become his high school’s valedictorian, reports ABC News. At the time of his graduation from First Coast High School in Jacksonville, Florida, Griffin Furlong had spent the 12 years following the death of his mother being homeless. The tenacious young man conquered his misfortunes through hope and hard work, and is now on his way to Florida State to study engineering thanks to friends who helped him raise almost $40,000 for college.
